Who am I and who do I want to become?
I, Deyci Carrillo López, am a proud product of Guanajuato, México and East Oakland, California. I started writing poetry around 13 years old, shortly after finding out my immigration status. Words helped me find my voice and magic. With poetry, I reclaimed my power and who I am. With my brand, I hope to inspire little and big humans to discover and own their magic through poetry and art.
OPENING ACT FOR RUPI KAUR IN OAKLAND, CA
On June 1, 2022, Deyci Carrillo López opened for Rupi Kaur at the Paramount Theatre in Oakland, California.
2024 TOWN MAGIC
On February 2024, Pura Vida 510 held a free community event where we celebrated the magic that lives in Oakland and its youth. Joined by 20+ artist from all over Oakland and small businesses we created a community space where we heal through collective care and the magic of art and palabra.
